. before i tell you a little bit about myself, i just want to echo what supervisor elsbernd said about dan weaver. he is awe inspiring, a legendary neighborhood advocate and he would do wonders on this committee. a little bit about myself. i'm a practicing attorney in san francisco. i live in westwood park. i have a son who is now a sophomore at [speaker not understood] high school just adjacent to the balboa park station. i am also a member of the board of directors of the ocean avenue association, the cbd that mr. weaver is the executive director of. and i'm currently serving as treasurer of the ocean avenue association. i think it's fair to say that ocean avenue corridor has turned a corner. we've seen tremendous improvements in the area and i think now is precisely the time to focus on the balboa park station and all that that can offer to the entire community, city college, [speaker not understood], and all the residents in the area. i bring an open mind and a commitment to service and i would very much like to be a part of this committee. i do notice that i had applied for vacancies

is needed is an advisory committee to make sure the departments are communicating. and supervisor elsbernd's department we have the mother's building that needs in dire condition, and part of the problem is the two departments aren't talking. there's another mural in district 11 that needs fixing up. so i think so i don't have to work on this in 20 years forward, that there needs to be some type of body where the two departments talk to each other, and i think this citizens advisory committee, where the departments could come and talk, make sure the vendors following their duty, and making sure we don't have ongoing problems with our murals. thank you. >> president farrell: thank you very much. next speaker please. >> hello. my name is jane blachly and i'm the daughter of one of the coit tower artist, and i have a few comments to make here. one is about the problem of the traffic that has been going through, regardless of some of the recommendations. i have a letter that was written very recently by the head of the coit tower, john dillen jer and he states in it that he himself saw people

colleague, supervisor sean elsbernd. >> thank you, mr. president. my honoree today is mr. fred martin. fred, if you'd like to come forward. fred is a long-time resident of district 7, right there in the heart of the district [speaker not understood]. to be quite honest, to be quite frank, mental health is not an issue that rises to the top of a lot of district 7 concerns. i don't hear about mental health issues often at neighborhood meetings, letters, calls. but fred always makes it his top issue. and this is a gentleman who has had a very long successful business career, who has made mental health advocacy really a great part of his life today. and he has done more than just about anybody else to educate me about issues in and around mental health. he's opened my eyes, opened my ears to a lot of issues that prior to coming to the board i had no idea about. and i'm very grateful to fred for doing that. and just within quite frankly the very parochial world of district 7, i give great credit to fred for making this issue far more prevalent in the minds of the residents of district 7, helping
